Home Is Where I Belong

Home is my family and friends. My parents, my sister, my cousins, and my classmates. My house, my town, my province, my country, and even my continent. Home is the rolling fields. The birds flying over the dappled trees. The cardinals and chickadees chirping away in the dead of winter. The brown fluffy rabbits hopping in my yard. Home is the grey and white clouds passing over this great land. The firm ground under my feet. The beautiful evergreen forests with all the wild animals living there. Home is a cozy place, sitting by a warm fire in the middle of a good book. If you're reading Harry Potter or Anne of Green Gables you would still be home. If you’re longing for an adventure or happy with a simple life you are still home. The seasons are part of home. Spring the season of new beginnings, summer a time of rest, fall a season of color, and winter a season when we most celebrate Jesus being born. The months are home. January when we start a new year, February a month of love and friendship, March when we have the last bit of winter, April when there are showers, May when there are showers, June when we wake up from winter's spell, July when summer starts, August near the start of fall, September the start of school, October a time of giving, November the start of fall, and December when the year is done.
