Everybody needs a Place to feel love - What Home Means to me

I was adopted at 18 months old, before that I lived in four places. In that time, I never had a place to call home. I didn't really know what home felt like, now I have a family who loves me, and a safe home. Home is more than a building, it is a feeling everyone deserves to experience. If the world thought less selfishly, and cared more about others, it would be a better place for everyone. A home is a right, not a privilege. It makes you feel happy, safe, relaxed and at peace. People with homes need to be thankful and mindful that not everyone currently can have one for different reasons. Habitat for Humanity, helps so many people. My uncle built houses with them and my Noni worked as a volunteer in the Re-store, helping to raise money. When I am older, I want to volunteer too. Helping others shows my gratitude for all that I have. Home is knowing that everything will be ok when your day didn't go just right, the warm welcome you feel when you walk through the door. Home is yelling at your sister because she is annoying or your dog licking you face. Home is mom asking if you want a cookie or playing video games with Dad. Home is family movie night or when your Uncle lets you help him make dinner. Home is snuggles and chicken soup when you have a cold or sitting on the swing with grandma or when mom smells your hair. Everyone deserves THIS. I am thankful my family has a home, to provide shelter, love and safety for us. I love and respect my home, and acknowledge that not everyone has a home because of the economy, family troubles and financial hardships.
