Home
A house is an empty shell, a building, a place to dwell
A home can be a feeling, people, a place, a space to be yourself.
Warm like a fire in a hearth on a cold day
Calm like a clear sky, glassy water.
Full of love, lots of laughter
Everyone has a home.
A place to come back to,
Whatever you’ve been through.
It’s always there.
For many people, a house is a home.
But for some, they don’t have a house.
A house isn’t always a home, but shelter is important.
But some people don’t have the money to buy one.
So they live out in the street,
In the rain, snow and sleet.
Some rent,
Costs mounting,
Money counting,
Not enough,
Evicted
It’s tough.
Habitat for humanity builds houses
For those who can’t afford them
Home, everywhere, nowhere, a building, family, an emotion, a belonging.
