Home in my Heart
Home.
It is more than just a house made up of bricks, windows, and walls. Home is love, safety, and comfort. Home is me and my family cuddling on the couch with popcorn and snacks. Watching funny movies with the fireplace ablaze warming the room. But in the end, it is never as warm as our hearts at that moment.
Family
It is not just people I know and that I am related to. It is me and my friends joking around. Family dinners with fresh soup and bread on the table. My pets running to the door to greet me when I come in from outdoors.
Smiths Falls
There is more to it than streets, stores, and buildings. It is the mighty waterfalls thundering in the distance. At the park we play grounders every summer. My school, with my favorite teachers and pupils.
Ontario
It is not just another one of the ten provinces. It is the sight of the CN Tower on the skyline. The Parliament Buildings standing strong and tall. The roar of Niagara Falls.
Canada
It is my country, my home. With the beautiful and vast forests and mountains stretching across it. With the cool, clear water of the Great Lakes. The feeling of sticky taffy dripping down my neck and the sounds of my hockey skates pounding against the ice.
All these little things that we usually take for granted mean home to me. They also all have a special place in my heart and point toward a small, but immensely powerful word.
Home.
