The Meaning of Home
I was born in Hong Kong. When I lived there, I felt comfortable because everyone speaks my language. Every day I went back to the same comfortable and safe place that is my home. Home is where you can invite your friends and your family together to spend some time together. There was no snow, and it was hot. When you go out you can easily find a basketball court. Back in Hong Kong my home was messy. There were lots of toys on the floor and we never cleaned up. There was construction everywhere and my brother and dad always got sick. The air was not clean.
Now that I live in Canada, I had to learn another language. That has been hard. But here my family doesn’t get sick easily because there is no construction near my home. The air here is clean and smells good. You can play outside in the back yard, but I like the front yard better because there is more space. My brother always plays with me, and he helps my mom. Here it is colder but I’m kind of used to it now.
I just learned about Habitat for Humanity and I think it’s awesome because everyone deserves a safe home.
