Home is My Favourite Memory
Home is my favorite food. The smell of pancakes wafting from the kitchen into my bedroom every Saturday morning. The pizza that we bought from Pizza Hut on the table at my Grandma’s house. My older sister’s freshly baked brownies straight from the oven.
Home is my favorite feeling. The joy of coming home to find freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. When I turn the corner of the half wall to find all the presents tucked neatly below the Christmas tree. The feeling of your safe now whenever I enter the house.
Home is my favorite smell. The strange smell surrounding me when I enter the car. The popcorn in the kitchen, about to be swallowed up by my family within minutes of the movie. The reassuring scent of my room, fresh air coming from the window.
Home is my favorite sound. My parents chatting with the guests in the living room. When the fire alarms randomly go off because they have “low battery”. The silence when my parents are having a nap and the rest of us are playing games on the main floor.
Home is my favorite sight. From me and my sibling’s art on the wall to the glistening pool in our backyard. The plants brimming with flowers and grass all over the house. My family eating at the dining table.
Home is my favorite place to have fun. Putting the sprinkler under the trampoline. Building blanket forts around the couch. Playing card games like UNO with my family on Sunday evenings, everyone smiling even though they didn’t win.
Home is a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life, and I hope everyone will and can be able to do that as well.
