My Safe and Happy Space
For me, the definition of home is waking up to the sounds of alarm clocks going off one by one or the sounds of my dog wanting to come upstairs or listening to the popcorn being made by my brother while watching a movie with my family. Waiting for my dad to come back from chores so we can eat breakfast as a family. My home is where I celebrate my birthday every year and where I spend my time at Christmas exchanging gifts with my family. A home is where you make bad and good memories and that is what makes a house into home. Something I always like hearing are my neighbors honking at me when they drive by with their car or tractor. My neighbors are also a big part of my home because they offer to do favors and ask for nothing in return, they are always there to help you when you need something they also always make sure we are safe as well as our pets. My pets are also a part of my home because they are always there for me waiting for me to come from school or when I am sad, they always know how to cheer me up. My home is my safe and happy space where I always feel safe and loved whenever I am there. When I go to my friend’s house, I enjoy it but to me it does not feel the same way as it does when I am at home because to me my family, my pets, my neighbors make my house a home to me. Do you feel that way too? When I come home, I always like telling my family how my day was and school. Without my family dinner
would be boring because I would not hear about the latest stuff that happened at the green tractors dealership my oldest brother works at or the stuff that is going on in the neighborhood from my dad and mum or the funny things my brother does at school with his friends. Something that makes a home is the inside jokes your family has and different families have different inside jokes. A house is not a home. A home is a house that someone made their own. That is what makes my home. What makes your home?
