What is Home?

What is home?❤ Home to me is not a house, but a place. I feel at home when I am treated kindly, and have people there to love me. Sometimes though, home is an activity. I love to draw, read and color, and when I do that I feel safe and alone. Home is peace and protection and somewhere you can go to be away from stressful matters. Home is like a cat and her kitten. Sometimes home is not in a house, for a house may not be welcoming to a person. If a house has cockroaches or a leaky roof, it's not very comfy. Home can be your favorite food too. Food is yummy. Food is comforting to me. When I eat pineapple, I remember all the times my nana bought pineapple from Costco. When I eat kiwis, my mouth feels tingly and sting-y. When I am eating, it reminds me of safety and my family's home-cooked meals. To me home can be my bedroom. My room is sometimes the only place I can get away from my sister— but of course she opens my door anyway. Home can be my home cooked meals, or just ordering pizza. Being at home can be playing board games, or just being near each other. Home is as sweet as candy. Home is as lovely as a crackling winter fire. Home is as refreshing as lemonade. I love going home to my family, my room, my love. What do you love about home?
