What Does Home Mean To Me?
The meaning of home is a complicated term which varies from person to person. When I think of home I think about my dog, my family, my room, and mostly all of the amazing memories I have made there. Let’s talk about the true meaning of home we love and cherish. What does home mean? Home is a place where you can be yourself without being judged, you can cuddle and watch a scary movie while feeling safe. When you search up home it says “The place where one lives permanently.” Nevertheless the meaning of home goes far beyond its visible description. Home is the place where I love being, I look forward to going there because it is where I feel safe. Home can be anywhere as long as you are with the people you love and who love you. A home is built on more than bricks and steel but on memories and strong bonds. When I was younger I would take my home for granted. I didn’t realize all the amazing things a home is. Sure you can have servants and 30 rooms but a home could be a small house with you and your loved ones. The words friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, all end with “end” but family doesn’t because of the love and the fact that at home you can goof around and feel free. When I was growing up I moved in with my Nana and it was hard not living with my parents but all of my Nana’s friends helped out and showed me the meaning of home. Where we were like a family, a community of acceptance and growth. I finally felt at home when I was with the people who accepted me for who I am.
