A HOME WITHOUT A HOUSE
WHAT IS A HOME?
IT’S LOVE,
AND HEALTH,
IT’S PEACEFUL,
AND A PLACE TO FILL YOUR MOUTH,
IT’S WHEREVER YOU ARE,
IT’S IRREPLACEABLE,
IT DOESN’T NEED A CAR,
OR A TRUCK.
IT’S A PLACE,
IT’S RELAXING,
IT’S YOUR MOM’S BEAUTIFUL FACE,
OR YOUR BROTHER’S,
OR YOUR DAD’S,
OR YOUR SISTER’S FOR THAT MATTER,
AND A GAME TO SHARE WITH YOUR COMRADES.
WHAT IS A HOUSE?
IT’S ROTTEN,
AND SHELTER,
IT’S FORGOTTEN,
IT’S OLD AND SMELLY,
IT’S A THING,
AND COSTS MONEY.
IT’S BUILT,
IT’S UGLY,
AND FULL OF GUILT,
IT’S ANNOYING,
IT’S PLAIN,
IT’S BRICKS,
AND IT’S LAME,
AND FINALLY OUT OF PLACE.
A HOME CAN BE A HOUSE OR AN APARTMENT,
IT CAN BE TALL,
IT CAN BE BIG,
IT CAN BE SMALL,
AND IT WILL STILL LIVE THROUGHOUT MY AFTERLIFE,
IT’S A PLACE WHERE I CAN BE MYSELF,
NO JUDGMENT AND WHEN I’M IN IT IT’S FULL OF LIFE,
IT’S GUMMY BEARS AND MY BROTHER SHOUTING OUT WITH GLEE,
AND FINALLY MY MOM AND DAD’S LOVINGNESS,
YES I LOVE TO BE ME……,
…..IN MY HOME.
I HOPE THAT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CAN CONTINUE TO BUILD HOMES FOR THOSE IN NEED TODAY-TOMORROW-FOREVER.
