The True Meaning of Home
Home is your happy place! Where you know that people care about you. Your home is filled with not just family, but also with people who make you feel loved and cared for. On dark and stormy nights, that’s where you go. Without that, your home just isn't home. It’s where you feel warmth and joy from inside. However, you only feel that at your home.
Every morning you wake up, there’s a sweet and delicious smell in the air. It’s your parent(s) cooking or baking something. Maybe oatmeal, muffins, or pancakes with Canadian maple syrup.
After a long and tiring day of school, it’s your home where you go. The place where you can truly be you, without anyone judging you. It’s where you can do what you want to do; play video games, draw and more!
You’ve finished your homework and come to dinner where everyone is waiting for you. From the inside, it makes you feel like you really do have value. You eat and chat, which tastes like true happiness.
Home is a place where you feel comfortable and safe. Sometimes, your home is the only place where you can drift off to sleep. It’s where you don’t have to be afraid of the dark when you go to bed. You feel protected. You can sense it. At home you feel and know that everything’s going to be okay.
Your home is very unique. Not because it’s big or fancy, but because it’s your home. You and your family’s precious memories are there. Like when you learned to walk. Those memories truly make your house a home! When you go to someone else’s place, you won’t feel like you’re at home.
I am grateful for having a home filled with people who care about me.
