The Meaning of Home

House is a building. Home is a feeling and even if you live on the streets and you feel loved, happy and appreciated it is still a home. A home is a place where you can feel different emotions, a place where you can watch movies and laugh and giggle together knowing that there's fresh hot cookies in the oven to munch on. A home is also a place where you can toss a blanket over your body and listen to the heater rumble. It's a place where you can sip on hot chocolate - and listen to the fireplace roar. Next, a home is somewhere you can enjoy family meals and their delicious tastes as hot steam fills the room. A home is also a place where you can have friends and family over and make so many memories as simple as sitting on the warm fuzzy couch for example maybe you're watching your favorite movie or eating your favorite meal. Friends and family can make hundreds of memories to store in your home. A house could be brick, or stone, or made of wood. It can be big, medium, or small. None of that matters if you don’t feel like yourself, loved, safe, or appreciated. If you do not have a house I hope Habitat for Humanity can help you get a house to be sheltered by. Over time my wish is that you can turn that house into a home.
