Home is Nature
Home is nature
Full of sparkling swirling blue lakes
Yellowy-orange sunsets glowing on the horizon
The soft call of birds ringing in my ears
My family are the bugs, the bees, and bears snug in their den
Trees tower above me
Each ring representing a year full of memories
From droughts to drizzles
When I am in nature
I feel the spirit of home, hopeful and safe
No matter where you are or who you are
Black or white, boy or girl, rich or poor
Home is the heartbeat inside of you
Home is your mother’s beautiful brown eyes
With swirls of peace and truth
Beams of light navigating its way
Through tangled blackberry bushes
These are the tangled ties that hold us together
This spider web of connection
Each thread holding the last to its center.
Note:
Everybody deserves a home. The spider web connection in my poem brings everything together. A fly might break the web, but it can always be repaired.
