What Home Means to Me
What home means to me…
Home is where you can feel safe and secure. A distraction from reality. A sanctuary. Home is where you can feel loved by your family and friends. It's where you do not feel judged or worried. You can let your mind roam free and let out your own feelings and beliefs.
If home was a sight, it would be a beautiful yellow, orange and red sunset in the summer. If it was a feeling, it would be the fluffy fur of a sweet dog. If it was a smell, it would be the sweet aroma of flowers and candy. If it was a taste, it would be a nice warm cinnamon roll fresh out of the oven, drizzled with a sweet frosting. If it was a sound, it would be like you were in an enchanted forest with the birds singing a beautiful melody and the sound of the river rushing.
Home is where you can spend time with your family, playing board games like monopoly and snakes and ladders. You can play with your pet like a dog or a cat and have fun. You can believe in anyone and anything without feeling like people are judging you for who you are. It's where you can be comfortable without feeling like you have the whole world on your shoulders.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving me the chance to help my community. Thank you for building homes for the people who are going threw rough times and the people who don't know what the concept of home is. To all the people who help build these homes… Thank you.
