Home. A Person, Place And Thing.
A home is not just a house. Perhaps it's a person. A loved one, a friend, a partner. Someone who cares for you. Someone that makes you so happy. The touch of their lips against your soft cheek. You start to forget. Forget about the rain, the darkness and the fog. You start to remember the clear skies, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the feeling of love.
Or perhaps it's a place. The coffee shop that always seems to spell your name correctly, the ice cream place down the road where you found your first love, or maybe the musical theater where you found your passion. These places make you feel safe. Welcome and maybe even a bit emotional. All the happy memories coming back. The way everything went in slow motion. The rush of adrenaline crawling through your body.
And just maybe, home is a thing. The stuffed animal that sits on your shelf, staring down at you that you just can't seem to get rid of. The snow globe you got for Christmas that gives you joy every time you play the music on it. Your friends may make fun of you for keeping these things but they bring you joy. Happiness and a sense of freedom. The way your fingers run over the object and you start to think about when you first got it. It was the best thing in the world. The smile on your face.
All of these can be a home to someone. We all deserve to feel this kind of happiness and love.
