What home means to me

Home to me is when I see my parents and know I am loved, waiting for a hug at night, snuggling and watching a movie on our warm couch, laughing and playing with my dog, all these things give me no doubt that this is where I'm meant to be. This is home. All the comforts of my home makes me feel blessed and I hope that all children feel the warmth and comfort of a home. Some people are fortunate with a home of their own. Others move about as finding a home is challenging, it is so expensive and many can’t afford it. My sister moved out on her own, she has a room in a house, it is a place to live but she misses home. Having your own home feels extraordinary because homes are expensive and get more expensive every year, people who are making it more expensive don’t know that they are causing fear. Being in a house having no doubt that you might just realise this I where you’re meant to be having a home is what one must seek. Home is a place where your soul is safe, it's a gathering of people that love you deeply, it's where your house is built strong and you know you can stay long. This is my poem. It may not win but I don't care as long as I am chipping in. Those kids need my help so I am doing the best I can. This is what home means to me so I guess I'm finished. I guess I’m done but I know somewhere out there this will help someone.
