The meaning of home When I think of the meaning of home, the first thing that comes to mind is my family. The meaning of home to me is feeling warmth, spending time with family and togetherness. Warmth to me is cuddling together with blankets over top of us. As we try to find a movie to watch on Netflix or Disney+. Warmth is having some hot chocolate on a really cold day. It really warms you up. Warmth is gathering by the fire telling ghosts stories to make us scared or laugh. Family is hanging out on Friday night watching a movie together and ordering pizza. We all start laughing really hard together when a funny part comes on. Family is playing soccer together in our backyard on the weekend. Then we make the trees our nets to try to score a goal. It is so much fun. Family is when we skate at an arena on a pretty cold day. Racing my siblings to see who can skate the fastest without falling down. Togetherness is going on bike rides through the forest exploring new places. Togetherness is gathering in our living room and telling jokes, making each other laugh. Togetherness is roasting s'mores by the fire trying to make it nice and golden then when you take a bite you can taste the ooey gooey marshmallow yummy! Having a family, a roof over your head and water and food are a basic need in life. I know that I am lucky to have a home and a family but not everyone is given the same opportunities. I believe that everyone should be able to access their basic needs and create their own meaning of home.
