Home Can be many things...

Home can be many things, but for me, it’s somewhere that I feel comfortable, somewhere where I can relax, and just be myself. But it’s also where my family and friends are. Home for me is my house, Nova Scotia, Canada; even the entire earth can feel like home. I haven’t moved to a new house since I was a baby, so I don’t know what it’s like to have to leave a home and move into a new one, but I know that I don’t want to leave my current home. A “house” is more like an object that stays somewhere specific, whereas a home can be anywhere. As long as you feel comfortable and you feel like you belong, you can call it your home. But not every home has to be in a house, it can be in an apartment on land,or even a boat in the water. Home is where my family is, and where I know I will feel comfortable, and it’s familiar to me. Not everyone has a home but everyone deserves one. I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to not have a home, but I know that we should treasure the ones that we have, and we should help others so that they can have a home of their own. -Emma Murimboh NMES
