What home means to me

Home, to me, means far more than just four letters. To me, it means feeling welcome, comfortable, safe, and happy. It is having a bad day and then going home to relax. It is feeling alone and then coming home to the love of a family. It feels like you belong. Sometimes I have very bad days, but I know that I will be able to come home to the love and warmth of my family. My brother always plays with me and is always nice; my sister helps me with my work; my mom makes really nice food; and my dad is always doing fun things for us.    My house isn’t the only place I call home; sometimes, even school is my home. That’s because when I am at school, I know that I will always be treated fairly and with respect, and that if I am not, my friends will always be there to back me up.   I feel happy to have a home. When I pray in the morning, I ask God to bless my home. I feel happy that my home is welcoming and warm. I am happy about the homes I have had.   Home means different things to different people. I know some people don’t have a place to call home, and I feel very bad for them. That’s why I think that we should try our best to help those people find a place to feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I think the government should try to provide houses for people so that homes can be formed out of them. They say a house is built by hand and a home is built by heart. I pray God blesses all our homes.
