Meaning of Home

No. Home is not a place. Not a wall with a roof. Home isn’t made of wood and brick. Home is created by memories, laughter, joy, and even some tears. I personally have moved houses a lot. But my home? Never moved away from it. A home is in a special place, a place without previous owners. Your heart. You may be asking yourself, ‘how can your home take place in your heart?’ Well, home is a feeling. A feeling of comfort, a feeling of joy, a feeling of love and a feeling of magic. What makes my home isn’t the cement, or the wood. It’s those memories. The memories of when a bird broke in, when we built a giant slide made of snow, even when we call my grandpa. When I die, hopefully as an old lady, I won’t think about my favorite pair of jeans, or what jacket I wore most. I’d think of those small things, playing with my cats, playing Roblox with my brother, crafting magic tricks with my dad, and doing my hair with my mom. Everyone deserves those moments, which is why I am writing this for you. Hopefully you’ll join Habitat for Humanity and help make a difference. You never know, a small poem or essay may change someone's life forever.
