What Does Home Mean to Me?

Home isn’t just a word. It’s a feeling. Being home means delicious meals, my bed, and most importantly, my family. It doesn’t matter if your pocket is empty, or your home is damaged, it only matters if you feel safe and loved. As long as you feel welcome, you’re home. If you moved to a new house and you don’t feel at home yet, give it time you will. If you moved to another country because you weren’t safe, and you don’t feel at home, give it time you will. Home is where you can be yourself without anyone judging you. Home is where if you leave, people will wait. Home is no matter how old you are or how many kilometres away it still feels like home. When is a house not a home? Don’t get confused, they sound the same but they aren’t. If you don’t feel safe, and you don’t feel loved, you are living in a house, not a home. But don’t be afraid to talk to someone, because people want to help. So be thankful for your home. Everyone should be loved in a home; safe and cared for in a home. I love my home.
