The meaning of home

The word home can have many meanings for people around the world. Some people think the word home is like safety, family, trust, or just a place that welcomes you for who you are. Other people think that home is a negative place, because of yelling, abuse, or money issues. The word “Home” has a different meaning for everyone in the world. But the word “Home” for me, makes me think of my family, my childhood, and last but not least, special objects. In my home, my family cares for me so the first thing that comes to my mind is them. My family raised me in my home and cares for me everyday so the word home reminds me of all the things me and my family did together. My parents make my home feel safe and protected. Whenever I need help with something, or something is on my mind, they are always the first people that I ask for help and they're always there for me. If I need help with a math problem, or a science project, they always find a way to help me and make sure that everything works out. One time, I needed help doing one of my school projects on invertebrates and my mom helped me right away. And when I had a presentation at school that I did not finish yet, my dad helped me practice and finish my presentation and I received a very great mark! My grand-parents also help me a lot. When I was 6 years old, my grandpa would always teach me how to do things in math in advance, so whenever I was learning something new in math, I would already know what it is. My grandma teaches me a lot of things during the summer. She teaches me how to plant flowers, beans, tomatoes and a lot of other things. So whenever I think of the word “Home” I think of my family. The second thing that reminds me of the word “Home” is my childhood because most memories of my childhood occur in my home. When I was ? years old, my mom got me a purple fish that I named Purpy. I loved my fish a lot, but one day, my mom told me that Purpy went back to the ocean to see his family. She told me that because she did not want me to be sad that he died. This is one of my biggest memories of my childhood because I loved my fish a lot and I used to think of him as my family. The last thing that reminds me of my Home are special objects. The first object I think of at home is my toy bunny, Layla. When I was 4 years old, me and my grandparents went to Florida to see my Aunt and Uncle for Easter. So when it was Easter, I went Easter Egg hunting around my Aunt and Uncle’s house and discovered a purple bunny that I named, Layla. Even though I am 11 years old, I still sleep with her because she is a big part of home for me. In conclusion, many different things for many different people. For me, the word “Home” reminds me of memories with my family, my childhood, and my purple bunny Layla. All of these things have a very special meaning to me. But the most important thing is that home doesn’t have to be a house, it should be a safe place where you are welcomed and loved by humanity.
