What I think of home

I think my home is more than a house, A house is just a l, my home is where my family lives, where, I was born and my community. I have lived in three houses at different times, and each was home for a while. My current home is not where I was born, I still feel where I was born is also partly my home. I was born in Edmonton, and my house was in Leduc. I still miss Leduc and it will always be the place that I was born and my first home. My new home is in Courtenay. My home is where I feel safe and comfortable. My family built this house to be our family home. However, my home is more than a house, it has my grandparents next door and is our farm. Our farm has been in our family for more than fifty years, so it feels more like our family home. My home is our land, our cows, a home four our pets and our creek. My home is also where my family is. My mother, father, brother, and pets are a big part of what makes my house my home. If they were not around our house would not feel the same. In my home I can be creative, and I can be myself. When I visit my friends house, I can't put up my artwork or store my toys. This makes me feel less comfortable. In my home I picked the colour of the paint in my room, I put up my pictures and all of my toys are there for me to play with. This is what makes my house a home. My home is also Canada, I have visited the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Germany and England and they are not my home! People in other countries speak different languages, have different accents, different foods, and different customs. As much fun as it is to visit, they do not feel like home. In my hometown we ski and skate in the winter and swim and play soccer in the spring and summer. This is different from other places. My home is my house, my family, my town, and my country but most of all my home is where I feel safe and comfortable. That's what home means to me.
