What Home Means To Me

I used to think home is 4 walls and a roof over your head. Now I know that home doesn’t have to be where you live. Home doesn’t even have to be a place. Home can even be a state of mind. Home is where you feel safe and loved. You could live in a tent, you could live in a mansion, you could live in a bus on the side of the street, but it is still your home. Home is where you are happy. Home is where you can be yourself. You shouldn't need to feel like you have to be someone that you’re not in your home. Home is where you can be happy with who you are. Home is where you feel safe. If you don't feel safe and loved in your house, it’s probably not your home. You can live at your house, but it doesn't have to be your home. As I said, home is where you feel safe, loved, happy and comfortable with who you are. My home is my house, because I always feel safe and loved there. I don’t always feel happy, but most of the time I am, because I live in a good environment. In my home I feel cared for. I always know that I have food and water in my home. I always know that I am loved by somebody in my home. In my home, I feel comfortable with showing who I really am. I know that it might not be like that at everyone’s house, but I hope that someday everyone can feel good at their house and home. Home isn’t just 4 walls and a roof. Home is where you are truly loved.
