Home in My Heart

It has been said that “Home is where the heart is” Home will always be in my heart As in my life it plays an important part It is the place I began to walk, talk And write with chalk Home is where I learned my first word And to actualize my first verb To run, to jump, to play And even how to pray Home brings a warm feeling to my heart As it is the place I get a head start I can express my true feelings And expect feedback with meaning My parents and I can discuss any topic Be it school, friends, or events that are chaotic At home my family is my foundation They make home my safe station From them I get lots of hugs And on cold days, hot chocolate in a big ol’ mug My parents provide food Which always lifts my mood I have nice warm clothes And I’m very grateful for those Precious memories are created at home Talking to grandma and grandpa on the phone Playing with my big brother Sledding with my father and dancing with my mother! Home is a welcoming place I can always enter An no matter the type of day I’ve had Going home always makes me feel better Home brings happiness and warmth to my heart And so I would like to play my part In helping other families purchasing a comfortable place A place they can call their home base
