What Home Means to Me -Having 2 Homes

Many people see a home as a plain building with four walls and a roof, but my home is different from that. In fact, I have two homes! I see my home as a safe place, a place I am most comfortable in. A place I can let out all my feelings, and a place I can laugh. A place where I make most of my memories at! It is a place I can go to hang out during my highs and lows. In March of 2019, my parents divorced. I now have two homes to go to, meaning it would take some time to get used to. Now it is February of 2022, and I am still adjusting to the feeling of both houses. At my dad's house, I live with my dad, his amazing girlfriend Ally, and when I rotate between houses, my brother Carson comes with me. At my mom's house, I live with my grandparents, my mom, her awesome boyfriend Rob, and my brother Carson. On my mom's side, we live at my grandparent's house, but we are moving to our own house soon! Just because I am not with both parents at the same time does not mean I do not follow traditions! Every July, I go to my aunt and uncle's house in Grimsby, Ontario near Niagara Falls for a weekend with my mom, her boyfriend, and my brother! Every Christmas Eve I go to my nanas house with my dad, his girlfriend, and my brother. I still get to go to my dad's New Year's parties too! That is what my homes mean to me! What does your home mean to you?
