Home Is...

Home Is… By Emily Xin What defines a home? A person? A place? Home is where I laugh the most and where I shed the most tears. Home is where I get stronger from all of my mistakes. Home is where I learn what truly matters. My home is with me wherever I am. My home is not like your home, or anyone else’s, my home gives me a sense of belonging, just like yours gives you. A home is a safe place where I can be who I am and not be questioned. Home is the place where I feel safe, and where I enjoy life to the fullest. A home is a supportive place where I truly discover myself. I think that we are all like salmon, we will always find our way home, no matter how hard, for home is where our hearts lie. Home is like the stars in the pitch back sky, leading us out of the dark. Four walls and a roof make a house, but a home is what you make out of it. Home is more than just a shelter, it’s where we live, it’s where we feel, it’s where we can be ourselves, it’s where life happens, it’s everything. I think that everyone deserves a home and I hope that someone will benefit from this and be a step closer to having a place to call home. If you have a home, be grateful for it and everyone you share it with, some people aren’t so lucky. If you don’t have a home yet, remember to never lose hope, and one day, when you get a house, remember, you are the one that defines your home.
