The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home Did you know, the cost of housing in Canada is so high, many hardworking families have to choose between paying for their rent and paying for other needs like food or heating. Home has many different meanings. But what it means to me is making precious memories and living together with my entire family. 3 Reasons for the meaning of home. 1st: To me, home is where I feel safe. Examples: 1. You moved to your new house but, the outside of the house doesn't look like your house but, when you check the inside, the inside looks like your house, then you felt safe and comfortable there as if your house came back to you. 2. You were getting bullied at school, so you ran back home. But the bullies were still chasing you. Then your parents showed up and chased them far from home and away from you. 2nd: To me, home is where we help each other. Examples: 1.You have your family’s back, whenever you get hurt or you lose something memorable. 2.You accidentally stubbed your toe so hard that it turned red. Then your parents rushed in and picked you back up and bringed you back home and treated your toe with a compression bandage. 3rd: To me, home is where we make memories. Examples: 1. You got a new toy and found a spot to play with the new toy. 3 years later, you still played in the exact same spot where you first got your new toy. 2. You finished school and headed home. But you forgot how to get home. Then your dad showed up in his car and picked you up and then taught you how to get home. The next day later, you finally learned how to get home. It was so memorable. A house is just a building where you either do your work or your job. A home is where you make memories and be with your family. It’s also where you feel comfortable and safe.
