The Meaning of Home

I would like everyone who is reading this to listen to this message. I am an eleven-year-old boy from Courtenay BC with a message to the world. Home is more of a feeling, not just place. Home is a place where you can feel safe, loved, welcomed, and accepted for who you are. Everyone deserves a home. Home is a place where others can feel welcomed as well. When I invite family members and friends into our house, I make sure they feel welcome inside of my house and try to make them feel at home. Have you ever thought what life would be like without a place to stay and a feeling of home? My family and I have moved into two houses in my lifetime. Both houses felt very safe, and I felt loved and welcomed. It is a priority for everyone in this world to have a safe environment to stay in. Too many people in this world are experiencing being homeless and are in unsafe environments. My home is my foundation. Without it, I would be lost. That is why habitat for humanity works to make safe and affordable housing for the less fortunate. Everyone in this world deserves to have a safe, healthy, welcoming environment so that they can feel good about themselves and who they are.
