What a Home Means to Me

A place to go lay down at night Underneath the sparkling lights. A place to go to feel safe at last Don't forget the bad past. A home is more than four walls and a roof A home has joy and love for you. A home is a warm place to stay But don't forget you can also play. A home has so many rooms to explore And one of them might be yours. A home has nightmares, a home has dreams, A home has everything in between. Every time I walk through that door My mom and dad greet me with love and support. My sister plays with me everyday Until it is time to be quiet and lay. Sometimes a home has things you don't like But that is just a part of life. Homes have lots of windows to see You might be able to see a tree. Laying in bed from dusk till dawn Thinking of the people who live on lawns. I learned how to walk I learned how to run I learned how to play all day in the sun Homes have kitchens To have fun traditions. Your home might change as the days go on But that doesn't change what goes on. Homes can be crazy Homes can be sad Homes can be mad or even bad. A home is not just a place to stay and A home has lots of emotions everyday Homes have lots pets to cuddle But don't forget you can also snuggle. Having a home is very special you see Because some people might only have a tree Homes are all different sizes and shapes But that doesn't matter, homes are all the same!
