Meaning of Home

My name is Shaylin, and my home is special to me because of all the amazing people. My home’s somewhere that I can be my true self. I feel happy when I think about it. A true home without a family isn’t a home I would call my home. My family takes good care of me. They have forever flowing love for me, my brother, sister and dog. I’m lucky to have such a caring and open hearted family that I can trust. I have lots of celebrations that bring my family together, like Aideh Nowruz. I also love to play with my family, so I’m very grateful to have these experiences. My home is filled with laughter and it’s super fun! A home’s not a structure, it’s a feeling, a deep feeling that brings me joy. I love my home, and everyday, I want to be there. It’s where I feel special and truly loved. My home’s where my roots are buried. No matter where anyone is from, we consider you a part of our family. I also feel a positive energy when I think about my home because it’s a space where I feel special in my own unique way and where my core is. My home is anywhere with my family. It always spills over with positive energy. I want everybody to feel this way. Without a home filled with the people I love, I would feel displaced. The difference between my Home and my House is that my home is where my family is. My house is where my belongings are. My home’s special. My home’s filled with acceptance, guidance and love. My home’s irreplaceable. It’s invincible, just like my family! My home’s just like a rubber band, it can bend, but it will always grow.
