Edward's Meaning of Home

When I’m with my loved ones, I know I’m home. When I’m in a nice place, I know I’m home. When I’m safe I know I’m home. When I’m comfortable I know I’m home. When I’m feeling loved I know I’m home. For me, home’s made up of others. My family keeps me loved and comfortable. They are always there for me. My friends help me in hard times and I can play and have fun with them. Loved ones can be friends and family, but sometimes aren't. They can be someone you know and they can still care for you. In my home, I need others to care for me, and for me to care for them. I need home to be in a good place. A home would need a good environment around it. If you are not breathing fresh air, life would be horrible. My home’s a safe place to live in because it is protected by the country. There is no war. I know a home and a house are different, but for me, to have a good home I would need a good structure to live in. If my home is in a good place then I can feel loved and comfortable. For me, home needs many “things”. My home is a good home because it has love. My family loves each other and with love we feel more safe. My home needs safety. With safety, I can live better. I like being comfortable. If I’m comfortable it means I’m home. With these 3 “things” my home is a better place to live in. I realize that houses and homes are different. A home is a feeling and a house is a structure. Habitat For Humanity builds houses so that people can have a home.
