Home by: Brooklyn Bates

My home life is really hard, sometimes I feel like I don’t even have a home Like when my grandma died, I felt lost and like I didn’t even have a home. I remember one day I told my mom I wished that I died not my grandma who died. I think I even got a bit depressed. But I was eight. I miss my grandma and my home because I had a really strong relationship with her. I now have two homes, but I would rather have one than the other. I just feel safer and more protected. And there are 12 people living on the property, and I love a busy home. I also live on a semi farm with my dad. Home means a lot to me, I feel safe, protected, cared for, loved and more but the most important thing is family, family never leaves. But some people don’t even have a family or a home, so I am really grateful for what I have. I have moved a lot in my life but even then, no one left, maybe my home but not my family. Even though I have two homes, I know in still loved and safe, well most of the time. But I have always had a safe home, and a lot of people don’t. So, I am very grateful for what I have, and that is why home is home!
