The Little Cottage

Once there was a girl named Emma. She was always moving into different houses. She was in the car with her mother. Her father died two years ago. She missed him terribly, but he was gone and she knew that. She had to be brave. While they were in the car, she looked out the window. They were going to the newest house for sale. Her mother was nice and loving but she always wanted to move houses. Ten minutes later, Emma's mom announced that they were there. Emma saw a big black house with amazing gardens. Her mom was very excited but Emma was skeptical. This house was very far away from the family and her friends. Emma did not feel safe in this big house. It was in a bad neighbourhood and it was creepy too. Emma was very sad. She felt as if ever since her father died, her mom wanted to move away. The next day, her mom, less enthusiastically, said that they were going to see a different house. As they drove, Emma saw a little cottage and Emma knew her father would have loved it. Emma felt safe and at home near it. Emma asked her mom to pull over. Then she ran outside and looked at the small cottage. Then she knocked on the door. No one answered. Emma opened it and it looked deserted. Then she called her mom. Her mom came running and then she too looked in the house. Oh my, said Emma's mom because she too felt that this was the house. It had a very pretty neighbourhood and their family was close by. It was going to be a bit of work but they would do it as a family with a safe home. The end.
