What Does Home Mean to Me

What Does Home Mean to Me By: Sara Kaisi My poem: A house is a structure of walls, a couple of rooms, a kitchen and a bath. A home has walls decorated with photos of family outings and portraits of relatives close and far. A kitchen with a warm or healthy snack after a long long day of study and work. A dining room with a home cooked meal, followed by a cup of my favorite ice cream. A living room with my father reading, my sister playing a tone, while my mother and I chat for no reason at all. A bath full of bubbles, ridiculously big bubbles, as my dog jumps around envious of me. A room with a window I call my own, full of pillows, books and endless dreams. A house is a structure. A home is a place for family and friends. Can any house become a home? Of course, it can. All you need is love and respect, And an “I” that appreciates the “we” and a big dose of silly fun and big, big dreams.
