What home is

What home is What home is, A dog scratching at the door eager for you to walk in, The scent from the burning vanilla candle, A package arriving at the doorstep every week, The place of sitting at the table together. The place, The place where you can cry, The place where you can let go, The place that overwhelms you with love, The place that gives you that feeling that no other place has. The feeling, The feeling of comfort as soon as you step foot in the house. The feeling when you enter of immediately feeling free from harm's way, The feel of the heated floors warming up my feet, The feeling of happiness and joy when I hangout with my sister. The sound, The sound of my dog going outside to use the bathroom at 3am, The sound of my sister and I laughing our hearts out, The sound of my mom's voice when we play speak out, The sound of my parents' car pulling in the driveway. My home, The feeling of knowing your family is all under one roof, The place I'm grateful for, The feeling of multiple different emotions when you think of home, The place that has some of the best memories. Home is something irreplaceable. I think it's terrible that not every kid in the world gets to experience what having a home is like. Hopefully with every entry and every 10 dollars donated a child will get to experience what having a home feels like.
