What Home Means to Me

What Home Means to Me “There is no place like home.”- Dorothy Gale, 1939 This is one of the most iconic quotes is cinema history. But have you ever thought about what it means? Well, before writing this I just thought “oh that’s nice, the shoes gave her superpowers, and she gets to go home to her family.” But now that I stop and think this quote, I start to think about people who don’t have a place to call home. I did some research and found out that around 5% of Canadians are without a home. That’s a lot. It got me thinking about what home truly means to me. Here are the things I came up with. Comfort Home to me is very comfortable. All my pillows and my dog make excellent thing to relax with. But home for me is also comforting in a different way. Emotionally. Home is I place where I feel comfortable talking to people about what’s on my mind. If I am sad, I can talk to my family about what is bothering me. If I need to relax and take a break, I have a comfortable bean bag chair that I can relax in. In general home is comfortable because of the love and positivity. That is why home to me home to me, is very Comforting. Family Home to me is wherever my family is. It could our house or it could be a cardboard box in the middle of the woods. so long as my family is there, it is home. We could be baking, dancing or watching a movie if I'm with my family I am happy. I live in a family of 5. Me, my Mom, my Dad, my sister and my dog. They are fun to be around, but my sister can get on my nerves sometimes. All in all, I love my family and it will never be home without them. Movies Me and my Family (mainly just my dad though) love to watch movies. Doesn’t matter what kind of movies good ones, bad ones, old ones, new ones, comedies, sci-fi or an old western we like to watch them all except for romance. Yuk! I don’t like romance. My top 5 movies of the top of my head are #5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, #4. Harry Potter and The Deathly hallows pt.1 and pt.2, #3. Star Wars: Episode Iv a new hope, #2. Avengers Endgame and #1. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. I love watching movies and my home would not be the same without them. They are so much fun to watch, and I find watching movies Is something that brings the family together. Conclusion There are many more thing that I could have wrote about but these three where the one that I felt where the most important. Home for me is the place where I can be at ease and where I can talk about What is going on in my life and where my family and I can watch movie and talk about life. Home to me will always be a special place where family can get sit down relax and watch a movie. And that is what home means to me.
