Home Is Where the Heart Is
Such a simple word: Home. But if you think about it, it's not simple at all. For a four-letter word it could have millions of meanings. For some it could mean a place where they can rest and connect with their family. To another it could mean a place of refuge from the world around them. It could even mean a blanket on the side of the road. We, 100%, take having a home, for granted! Did you know that 5% of the people in Canada are homeless? And this is Canada: one of the best and safest countries in the world! It's astounding to think about countries like Iran and Iraq that still have wars raging on! 16% of the people in Iraq are homeless. In India, 16,000,000 KIDS are homeless! That’s more than twice the amount of people in Toronto! My point is, that you can’t just take the word “home” and say, “This is what this means, and anyone who sees it differently is wrong!” “Home” is one of the most incomparable words there are. It is not just a word. It represents warmth, memories, family, and comfort. As the old Roman philosopher Gaius Plinius Secundus said: “Home is where the heart is”.
