What Home Means To Me

Home means many things; it is a place that I will always love. It is not the structure or the furniture but the memories with loved ones that are important to me. I will cherish them forever. Home ranges from a place where you can be alone or where you can be with family. Sometimes, when you feel sad, your home can make you feel better. Home can do so many wonderful things for you. There are multiple things I do with my family that signify home. Laughing and having lots of fun at a big Christmas dinner with our relatives, spending time outside and enjoying the fresh air, or snuggling under a blanket watching a movie are just a few things we do. Those things to me are all examples of home. Even if we are on a vacation far away from our house, the first word that comes to mind is home. As long as my family is together, that feels like home to me. Home is filled with memories. I remember many things from when I was younger that will always stay with me. Some things include baking cookies with Mamma or playing outside with Papa. I love when we go camping in our trailer and enjoy bonfires while we’re there. Happy and sad memories will always be a part of me. Anyone could buy a house, but it is the memories inside that make a home. Home is where I belong. It is where I feel safe and I can be myself. It is where I can laugh and have fun or find comfort in hard times. It is a place where I can relax and sleep in or wake up and eat a delicious breakfast. It is where I smell Mamma’s fresh baking or hear Papa watching car racing. It is where I can be free and do whatever I want. Home, to me, is the happiest place in the world. I always remember that there are so many people in the world without homes. Sometimes, they do not get to experience all the things my family and I can. I fee l so fortunate that I can do so many amazing things and make so many fun memories. What Habitat for Humanity does is so wonderful. Every time they give someone the keys to their new house, the family gets to start making it their home and filling it with new memories and traditions. In conclusion, I think that home can be anything you want it to be. I think it means family, memories, where I belong and so much more. Some people take their home for granted. I don’t think many people really know what it feels like to not have their own home; no one in the world should ever have to experience what it’s like. My family is blessed to have a home and to have made so many memories and traditions with it. Home, to me, is the best place in the world and it always will be.
