Home Means Everything to Me.

Home is one of the things I love the most in the world. Home means everything to me, yet can mean many things to different people. Whether it's a rotten, small place where you return after school, or the place where you go to stay safe when you're sick. The place you gather your friends and family and talk by the fireplace. Even a place with no air conditioning in the summer. There are different types of homes. Yours may be decrepit, or even the most luxurious mansion. Although my home is not the largest, it’s the place I feel most comfortable. The place I don't want to ever decamp from. My home means everything to me. Even if I don't think so everyday. Home is a place where I hang my hat. All the most extraordinary memories are made at my home. Even the worst memories are made there. I remember the times I scampered to my cozy living room on Christmas morning, opening presents and enjoying my life. However, my home is also the place where I puked on the floor when I was sick. The point I'm trying to make is that even if you think the best memories are made on a vacation, not to mention the worst memory is when you go on a roller coaster and you faint afterwards, you’re partially wrong. Fine, you're not wrong, but a majority of the best and worst memories are made at home. Since that's where you spend your lifetime. I love my home a lot and although it may not be the most merrymaking place, deep inside if there's one place I could be, that one place with the best memories, that place is home. Home is the place where I have my friends over for a sleepover. Where we go to the basement and spend all night watching movies, then cuddle on the couch, falling asleep with popcorn in our mouths. Home is the place where my family and I sit at the dinner table, and do most of the talking about our days. My room easily is my favourite room in my home! Without my room, I don't know what I’d do because I'm in there all the time. Since we started online school, I have been in my room around 20 hours everyday. I do activities in every room in my home. In my basement, I go on zoom calls for sport practices. In the kitchen, my mom and I bake the most delicious cookies. Every room in my house makes my home complete. We all know since COVID hit, everything was all cancelled. I couldn't go anywhere- school, sport practices, the movies, the library. That at this moment of my life, the only place I could be, is my home. What makes my home special is that it’s kind of my safety net. The big pentagon that will always keep me safe, no matter what happens. I'm not saying my home can last a tsunami or an earthquake. I'm saying it will always be there to comfort me. My home is a place to relax in, and play in. My home is really special because whenever I walk through the doors, it feels like I belong. There are pictures all over the walls that express my family and I. It's the only place in the world that I can actually be in right now, because everything is closed. It's not only somewhere I can always be. It's somewhere that I love to be. Now that just makes home, home to me. In conclusion, no one knows how fortunate I am to have this superb home. I love my home so much and am so grateful for being able to live here. Although sometimes I watch shows where people renovate huge houses. Then make them look outstanding to live in and I get very envious, wishing I could be there. When I think about it, this place I live in is more than a house with 4 walls. It's a home. My home.
