What home means to me

What home means to me A house is not a home until you make it your own. It takes more than a coat of paint to make it yours , it takes memories. Like losing your first tooth, celebrating your 12th birthday or having the greatest sleepover with your best friend. Home is a place you feel safe. It’s where you feel loved. Or a place to rest your head when you're tired , after a long day. It’s a place where you have family game night, playing Mario kart until 12:00 on new years eve , or the place you have a mini fashion show for your dad when you were younger after you got home from shopping. Home means something different to everyone , whether it is a mother, father, aunt or uncle, grandparent, neighbour, teacher, child or friend. When someone is left without a home, they are left without a place to lose that first tooth, celebrate their 12th birthday, have the greatest sleepovers, and most importantly they are left without a place to feel warm, safe and happy. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, everyone deserves a place to feel safe, everyone deserves a home.
