My House is Like a Person
My house is like a person,
Who keeps me safe and warm.
She holds me just like her son,
As she saves me from the blistering storm.
My house is like a person,
Her colors shine so bright.
In summer she welcomes the beaming sun,
While her backyard flowers blossom with pride.
My house is like a person,
One day she’ll get old.
Her paint will soon wilter,
And she’ll no longer seem so bold.
My house is like a person,
Yet not many get her shelter.
Together we can help,
Like the man outside called Mr. Welter.
