What Is Home?

What is Home? Home. A place to seek refuge. A place of tranquility with room to roam. A garden, A waterfall. Like a book waiting to be opened, A page to be turned. A fortress filled with love and peace. A flower in a field, A novel in a library. Home, a place so easy to forget, to take for granted, Yet as hard to reach as outer space. During times of crisis, Our vision of home is altered to become a cozy burrow, or a feathered nest. I like to think of a home as a castle, a stronghold. It contains a warm, fuzzy heart, And a strong, protective shield. Home can not be fully enjoyed, however, if one is solitary, but when we come together to enjoy its gifts, love and peace flood in through the windows and doors. That is when it becomes home.
