The Meaning of Home

Have you ever thought about people that don’t have the luxury of a home, that don't have a place to raise family in? Luckily, Habitat for Humanity are trying their best to increase the chance for everyone to have a home. Continue reading to find out the difference between a house and a home, what makes my house a home, and why everyone deserves a home. There are houses and homes, but what’s the big difference? A house is a building that provides shelter. However, it is not filled with the same warm love that a home has. Homes have unique items to your family, things that make it your home. Now remember, a house is a building, a home is a place that warms your heart. There are lots of things that make homes unique to their owners, in my home, sitting around the warm fire with my family brings back memories. Something that makes my home special to me is the dinner table, the place where my family and I spend some real time together. These are just two examples of what makes my house a home, but there are much more. Loads of people don’t have money to buy a home or even pay rent because it is used for food and water. They don't have a cozy fire to warm up by after playing in the snow, and don't have the chance to live without having to worry. These are just a few of the thousands of reasons why we need to help Habitat for Humanity. In conclusion, lots of people don’t have a place to call home, a place they can rely on to keep them safe. I hope that one day Habitat for Humanity will succeed in their goal of everyone having a home.
