What home means to me
The definition of ‘home’ online is ‘the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.’ That can’t be more wrong. People will say home is a building with four walls, but the true meaning of home is beyond those four walls. House and home are completely different things. You can call a house a home because it has everything you need in a home, walls, a roof, food, a bed and so much more. But a home has fun, memories, family, love and comfort, which are the things you need. Since home is such a powerful word, a lot of people are so lucky to have one and be able to say that they have a home. For others who don’t, life can be tricky. Everyone deserves a home, everyone deserve love, fun, memories and looking differently at a four walled building.
Canada has a population of 37+ million people. Many of those 37 million may not have a home and many of those 37 million can change that. Donating to the unfortunate can change someone's life and give someone a home that they deserve.
Having a home already means so much but taking a second look at your house and remembering memories mean even more. I look around my home and am still so fortunate about what I have. To know that everyone can’t be as fortunate as I am, it hurts because if you see what their life is like in your eyes, you will be so happy to see and recognize where you are today.
A home to me is everything I need because a home is a house that expands feelings to make a home.
