What Home Means to Me

A home to me is a place where you feel safe and welcome every time you go in. It can be a tent, a treehouse, or even a caravan. Your home is just a special place where you love to be, and feel comfortable in it. You never feel like you’re being attacked by someone, but like a big, warm blanket is always covering you. My favourite spot in my home is my bedroom because it is spacious, and is where I can feel relaxed and can be private. In the morning, I can read a book peacefully in my bed when everyone else in the house is asleep. Caris, my sister, likes to play with the Lego buildings on my shelf with me. For example, there is a red dragon, police cars, and a big rescue boat. One of my family’s favourite parts of my home is the backyard. It’s where Caris and I run around in the summer and have snowball fights in the winter. Probably the best part of our backyard, though, is the hot tub. Around every, to every other weekend, my whole family sits in the hot water to relax. Caris and I usually bring our swimming goggles so we can put our heads in the water, and we take turns doing funny dances. You kind of feel like you’re moving in slow motion! However, in the house, our favourite room is the family room. Every evening my mom, my dad, Caris and I sit on the couch to eat dinner (we usually also watch something on the TV to relax). In conclusion, home is where you feel safe, calm, and welcome. It’s a unique place where you love to be - whether it’s a trailer or a patch of grass under a tree!
