Where I Truly Belong

They say home is where you hang your hat, But what if you’ve got no hat to hang? I may not have a hat, but I do have a home, and if I had a hat there would be no room to hang it. My home is too full of love, of life, My home is too full of happiness, and at the end of the day, when I need somewhere to rest, I figure that my home is the absolute best. I figure that my home is a place where I’m loved, a place for anyone, big, or small, a place that welcomes you, short, or tall. It’s the place where my heart rests steady and strong, the only place that I truly belong. I am connected to this place for better or for worse, I am connected to this place whether it’s a blessing or a curse. This place will never truly be gone, it is always with me, through dusk and through dawn. I live in this place, but I live with it too. So if I find a new house, it won't feel so new; because a house is just a shell, it's what's inside that counts. The way that it looks doesn't matter an ounce. The way that feels matters way more. So tell me, do you feel it in your heart and core? Can you feel the warmth and goodness once more? Your heart keeps your home, your home is in your heart. You and your home can never be apart. So next time you feel the feeling of home, keep it, treasure it, and you’ll never be alone.
