When I walk in my home

When I walk in my home all I want to do is smile. It feels like the love goes on for miles and miles. After a long day of work my mom is feeling despair, But she comes home to a house full of love and care. As I turned the corner I see my dad at the oven, He’s making fresh corn, and frying some onion. As I breathe it calms me, and as I look in his eyes it soothes me, Because in a home, everyone, feels happy, As I sink into the couch, and let out a sigh, And my little sister comes down and says ‘hi.’ She asks me what's wrong, ‘Nothing’ I respond, Because this is where I belong. As I think deep, I think of how fortunate I am, Fortunate for my family, And this good tasting ham, So lets make a promise, One we won’t dismember. That we won’t let people be hungry and homeless, Never ever. By writing this poem, I feel pride and joy, Because I’m giving a life, value, and praise, To someone who's feeling a little alone. From writing a poem, or making donations, Anything can help, even a little motivation. Habitat for Humanity is making a difference, And giving people a home no matter the circumstance. The feeling in a home is not just for me, But for everyone and especially for people who are in need.
