I Think About How My Home is Being Built
Its electricity, the brain
Its plumbing, the blood
Its frame, the skeleton
Its heating and cooling, the lungs
Its siding, the skin
But where is its heart?
My house isn't alive the day my family moves in.
We are our home's heart.
All of us racing down the halls and up the stairs.
To see our new rooms.
After all of the excitement we sit down.
And we enjoy our first meal.
In our new house.
All of us feeling so fortunate.
That we have walls around us.
And a roof over our heads.
Food on the table.
Home is truly where the heart lives.
