Home is Where the Heart is

At first glance I see a brick expanse I turn the key to open the door I see so much more In the kitchen I see a table and chairs and beds and dresser upstairs In my room is where my ideas bloom We’ve been together through good and bad weather we stay devoted through Covid There is a rule to stay home from school My mom has a new feature she is now my teacher My dad was on the brink so he built us a rink Now we go outside everyday and ice hockey we play My parents have taught me that circumstances won’t make me happy We need to be resilient and persistent Above all else home is where the heart is I love my family and we live together happily
